Well, actually my comment is about another comment. Here is that comment:

Mr. Myers can stand in defiance of history and say what he wants (which, just happens to be guaranteed by a long list of CHRISTIAN founders and leaders). His buddies, the godless communists who have murdered hundreds of millions in the name of atheism during the 20th century alone, are pleased to see this fool get an audience in one of taxpayer supported institutions of "learning".
Mr. Myers, who apparently believes everyone ELSE is wrong, is nothing but a hate-filled, attention-seeking, anarchist. Mr. Myers is asking others to break laws, violently disrespect the property and beliefs of millions of good citizens, and show his brand of ignorant hatred for what HE doesn't understand. No one should be fooled by this kind of elitist naziism. Mr Myers is exactly the same person who convinced Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Pol Pot, and others that the world should either believe like him or be destroyed. Yes, he has inside him just what he denies exists --- the soul of Satan.
Climb back in your dark hole, Myers, and leave life to the those who want to actually live it and accomplish something for themselves and others. Your brand of disgusting disrespect only survives in the garbage cans of the world's despots. Thankfully, your brand of hate will disappear from my mind, and I will place your suggestions with the waste my dog deposits every day. For those who might consider your foull-mouthed diatribe to be remotely sane, I will pray for them.
SC needs to rethink its policy.
Well, I wanted to address a few points. So I typed up a response. Only to find out, when it came time to actually post it, that their registration system was broken.
So, I will post it here:
Deja_View,
I do agree with you that Dr. Myers is attention seeking, he is a teacher and in this instance a lecturer, so seeking attention does seem to be the correct course of action.
I dis-agree that he is in any way "hate-filled" or an "anarchist". He doesn't hate religion, he finds it pointless and scientifically inaccurate. While this appraisal may anger someone that holds faith as an important part of their life, it is not due to any hate on Dr. Myers' side. Really the worst he can be accused of is being blunt. He has the audacity to tell the truth that "Yes, that belief system does make you butt look fat".
Dr. Myers has never deliberately broken any law to gain attention. Nor has he encouraged anyone to break any laws. Do you get it? He is secular. He likes laws, he thinks that laws should be the highest authority that we listen to as a society (not someone's personal interpretation of an admitted mute god).
And I am totally baffled on what violence you are accusing Dr. Myers of! The man could be a Quaker (if it wasn't for their paranormal belief system.) He does not purport nor recommend any sort of harm as the answer to any anything. This really can only be complete slander (like most of the rest of the source paragraph) or the most rarefied definition of "violence" I could imagine!
HIS brand of disrespect is much preferable to yours. He is just saying that there very likely is no god, and that we would all have fewer problems if we stuck to facts instead of beliefs.
Your brand of disrespect involves you comparing him to Hitler, lying about the sort of things that he has done and said, and implying that he is un-american because he fails to see (by faith's own definition) the unseeable.
