"Elected Elite" as an accurate and non-derogatory label

I think that "Elected Elite" should be an accurate and non-derogatory label for congress persons.

They are definitely elected.

I would hope that they are in the top percentiles as far as smarts go, as well.
(If they are not, well doesn't that say more about the voters than them...)

I just wish that more of them would tell the truth instead of what their constituency wants to hear!

Therein lies the puzzle.

If you say enough things the voters don't want to hear, you don't get elected. Most members won't even say "Evolution is true" because a majority in the US disagrees with that statement.
